Description
In the first step of refining, the gold-bearing rock is ground with steel balls and separated from the dust by wet chemical separation. In this process, the products containing precious metals are dissolved either in aqua regia, a mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acid or in chlorinated hydrochloric acid. At the end, the precious metal is separated from the solution either by heating, (melt) electrolysis or extraction with special chemicals.
